Certified to both Bonsucro and ProTerra standards
Bonsucro
CAEI achieved Bonsucro certification in 2015 and has since undergone at least one recertification, covering roughly 113,000 tons of certified sugar production. Bonsucro is a global multi-stakeholder standard for sustainable sugarcane.
ProTerra
CAEI achieved ProTerra certification in 2016, a standard focused on sustainable economic performance alongside social and environmental stewardship, and is listed as a certified member on the ProTerra Foundation's own site.
ISO 14001
The company also holds ISO 14001 environmental management system certification, covering how it monitors and manages the environmental impact of its milling operations.
Company leadership has described sustainability as "part of our vision" rather than a temporary initiative, framing efficiency, competitiveness, and environmental responsibility as interconnected priorities rather than trade-offs. See CAEI's Contributions page for further detail.
